Xero Energy provides services to assist projects from the initial idea through to construction.

For a renewable energy or low carbon project this would start with scoping work to define what grid infrastructure would be needed for the project based on its location and capacity and where the project could connect. A connection feasibility study would outline connection options and this would typically be followed by the grid connection application and agreement process.

The conceptual design process would refine the grid connection for the project based on the works required, construction, cost and operational considerations.

Assistance would be provided for the project consents team in defining the construction works and infrastructure for planning permission.

Grid integration studies are useful for understanding where grid capacity may be available for projects which may be advantageous in terms of programme and/or cost.  Grid integration studies are also useful in understand the broad issue in connecting renewable and low carbon projects to grid at local, regional and national level.
